General Statement of Duties
Manages and oversees the operation of an 18-hole municipal golf course including facilities and grounds maintenance, turf management, staff supervision, and the planning, budgeting and procurement of equipment and supplies.

Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Professional Golf Course Management, Business/Public Administration, or related field, plus six (6) years of related professional experience in recreational/golf facility management with four (4) years of supervisory experience.
Professional Golf Association Certification or Club Management Association America Certification preferred.
Qualifications :
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of golf course administration for a large, heavily utilized municipal course.
Thorough knowledge of the game of golf.
Demonstrated ability to plan, direct and coordinate all activities involved in the administration and operation of a municipal golf course.
Demonstrated experience in identifying and addressing occupational hazards related to the operation, care and maintenance of a municipal golf course, ensuring employees and public safety.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial operations, including collection and deposit of daily receipts, management of revolving funds; and preparation of the production of financial reports.
Demonstrated knowledge of turf maintenance, including tools, materials, methods, and practices in the care and maintenance of golf course grounds, buildings, and facilities.
Demonstrated proficiency with Golf Trac software (or equivalent) for payments, membership management, tee time reservations and report generation.
Demonstrated experience in customer communication platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and interactive websites, with the ability to manage push notifications, text/email communications, and newsletters.
Proven experience supervising staff, including hiring, training, scheduling and payroll administration.
Proven experience in capital improvement planning, budgeting, accounting and purchasing.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including strong public speaking skills.
Demonstrated computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and customized golf software.
Proven ability to interact tactfully and effectively with the general public, golf professionals, golf groups, media, Town departments, supervisors, and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs the overall operation of the golf course, including administration and grounds functions, and oversees personnel management, daily play operations, customer service, fee collection, recordkeeping, and enforcement of rules and regulations.
Establishes, implements and enforces operational policies, procedures, and rules governing staff performance, public use and facility operations.
Develops, presents, justifies and administers the annual golf course budget, including oversight of the revolving fund, revenues, expenditures, and financial reporting.
Analyzes financial performance, revenue trends, staffing levels, and capital needs; develops and implements strategies to maximize revenue, control costs, and ensure long-term financial sustainability.
Provides operational oversight of the golf professional, and coordinates on-course activities, as necessary.
Provides oversight of restaurant operations to ensure contractual obligations are met.
Directs turf management, groundskeeping, and facility maintenance programs in coordination with the Turf Operations Manager.
Plans and directs long term operational and capital initiatives, including five to ten-year capital improvement planning for facilities and ground operations.
Ensures compliance with all Town, Department of Parks and Recreation, state and federal policies, regulations, and procedures.
Promotes and ensures safe work practices and the proper use of equipment and protective measures.
Performs other related work as assigned.
Supports Town policies and philosophies.

All positions may be subject to an interview process. The Town reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be invited to participate in the examination, or any part thereof.
All outside candidates will be required to undertake and successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test that includes testing for THC (the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana), given at the Town's expense prior to employment if conditionally offered a part time, full time or safety sensitive position.
