Winged Foot Golf Club is a private club with two 18-hole golf courses located in Mamaroneck, New York.
We are looking for Seasonal Stewards to join our Culinary team. This is a great opportunity for someone values teamwork and thrives in a kitchen where high standards and quality are always the focus.
Position Summary
Contributes to the daily operation of the stewarding department and operational responsibilities such as but not limited to; ware washing, china, glass and silver washing, storage and organization of these items; assist with cleaning and organization projects, organization and cleanliness of operational equipment for daily needs and banquet event needs. Hold yourself accountable to a high level of food safety and sanitation along with appropriate use of chemicals and equipment. Assist with food production tasks.
Position Responsibilities
- Works well with team and communicates efficiently
- Organizes and prioritizes multiple projects to meet deadlines
- Proactive, creative and flexible when it comes to problem solving
- Practice safe and sanitary food handling and preparation procedures
- Takes direction from Director of Culinary and Sous Chefs, ask questions when necessary
- Maintains clean, organized and hygienic work areas
- Communicates and follow ups with all other stewards, assists and provides teamwork as needed
- Takes full responsibility over kitchen cleanliness
- Takes full reasonability over cleanliness and organization of Food & Beverage storage areas
- Assist with daily ware washing and trash removal
- Cleanliness and organization of trash areas (Clubhouse and trash bay)
- Assist with special menus and events, set up and breakdown
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
Qualification Standards
- Must be able to operate stewarding equipment safely and mindfully
- Must be able to read and understand English and communicate members in a
professional manner
- Knowledge and understanding of chemicals their use and cleaning techniques
- Demonstrates a controlled sense of urgency
- Reliable and punctual
Education & Experience
- Must be able to understand English
- 5 plus years of work-related experience, preferably in hospitality
Physical Demands
For a 40-hour work week:
- 14 hours of standing
- 14 hours of walking
- 12 hours of repetitive movement - bending, squatting, stooping, scrubbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, sitting, and twisting and walking up and down stairs carrying bus bins and trays
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy items around 40 – 50 lbs.
Grooming
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Club standards. Professional business attire required.
Other
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the club. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
