The Yacht & Country Club of Stuart is seeking a Golf Superintendent to lead agronomic operations and deliver exceptional playing conditions consistent with a premier private club environment. The Superintendent is responsible for all aspects of golf course maintenance, staff leadership, budgeting, long-term turf health, course improvement planning, and grounds maintenance.
GOLF COURSE & COMMUNITY
Located within a private, gated community in Martin County near the scenic Manatee Pocket, The Yacht & Country Club has been a cornerstone of the community since 1969.
The Club features an 18-hole championship golf course with five sets of tees ranging from 4,040 to 6,574 yards, offering an enjoyable and challenging experience for players of all abilities. Recently renovated, the course is presented in exceptional condition and maintained to high private-club standards. Features include TifEagle bermudagrass greens, TifGrand bermudagrass collars and approaches, Celebration bermudagrass tees, fairways, roughs, and Platinum paspalum on the practice range tees, providing superior playing conditions and year-round performance in South Florida’s climate.
The Club is situated within a secure residential community of approximately 550 homes and maintains a vibrant, full membership, including approximately 300 golfing members and 140 social members, supported by a healthy waiting list.
In addition to golf, the Club offers a full-service clubhouse, a comprehensive sports complex, and a dedicated golf learning center.
REQUIREMENTS
- Turfgrass Management or related degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years progressive experience in golf course maintenance.
- Required: warm-season Bermuda turf experience.
- South Florida experience preferred.
- Proven leadership, communication, and budgeting skills.
- Florida Pesticide License (or ability to obtain).
- Bi-lingual a plus
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain superior playing conditions for daily member play and club events.
- Develop and execute agronomic programs including fertilization, pest management, and cultural practices.
- Manage irrigation scheduling, repairs, and water conservation initiatives.
- Lead, train, and develop maintenance staff while promoting safety and professionalism.
- Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets.
- Oversee equipment fleet and maintenance facility operations.
- Communicate course conditions and projects with club leadership and golf staff.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
