Start: March 2026. Seasonal, 10 month position.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Hospitality Management or related field, preferred
- Three (3) years or more of bartending experience, country club experience preferred
- Wine Certifications are recommended, but not required
Job Summary:
Point person for Beverage Operation including all management, leadership, financial, and operational performance of the Department. Works closely with the Clubhouse Manager and other members of the Club’s Senior Management, serving in highly visible capacity with the membership and staff.

- Assures that all state and local laws, along with Club policy and procedures, are being followed and enforced.
- Strong knowledge and ability to perform required role during emergency situation
Responsibilities:
- Creates a warm and welcoming environment for all members and their guest that strengthens our sense of family and community at SHCC.
- Develops and maintains a bar product inventory for alcoholic beverages including, wines, non-alcoholic beverages and mixers, glassware and other bar supplies.
- Creates seasonal drink menus to meet with industry trends and Member needs.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas, glassware and equipment through regular inspections.
- Develops standard operating procedures to help assure bars are setup and operated efficiently.
- Maintains an adequate supply of liquors, wine, beer and other beverages to meet business demands.
- Recruits, trains, schedules and supervises bar personnel according to established club procedures.
- Creates his/her schedule to ensure all shifts, event and outings are properly staffed.
- Assures that all laws applicable to the beverage operation are consistently followed.
- Works with Club Management and others to ensure efficient beverage service in all of the Club’s outlets and for special functions.
- Works with Clubhouse Manager in creating and developing wine lists.
- Responsible for Member Wine Locker Program and all inventories associated.
- Develops budget for the Beverage Department; monitors financial information and takes corrective actions as necessary to help assure that financial goals are met.
- Handles complaints from Club Members, guests and others relative to the Beverage Department.
- Assists with private parties and service in food and beverage outlets, when necessary.
- Keeps current with changing Member preferences and industry trends relative to the beverage operation.
- Attends management meetings when scheduled.
- Schedules wine and beer samplings with distributors to continuously improve the variety and quality of our offerings.
- Monitors bar closing procedures (checklists) and assures that areas are secure.
- Will fill in as a bartender when needed.
- Plans and organizes special wine promotions and programs for our members and guests.
- May serve as Club’s opening or closing manager or M.O.D.
- Schedules maintenance of draft beer tapping and fountain soda.
- Able to lift 50 pounds

Beverage & Wine Program
- Create and execute creative cocktails seasonally
- Keep with industry trends to ensure Member engagement
- Curate and manage a comprehensive wines-by-the-glass list and executive wine list
- Ensure Wine List is up-to-date each week with proper inventory practices and quantities.
- Manage Member Wine locker program and all inventories associated
- Plan and execute beverage tastings and specialty events
Financial
- Develops and monitors labor forecasts and budgets
- Develop financial records and reports as needed/required
- Create product and revenue control systems and procedures to help reduce theft
- Execute proper inventory at the beginning of each month
- Update all costs of goods to ensure accurate accounting
- Ensure JONAS software is current with costs and pricing
Licenses and Special Requirements

- Food Safety Certifications
- JONAS Software experience recommended, not required
