In 1964, Robert McCulloch opened the original Nautical Inn, with just 16 rooms, a cocktail lounge, and a 180-seat dining room overlooking Thompson Bay. Over the next several years, the hotel expanded to accommodate the Bay Rooms, Cove Suites, the Commodore, and Captain Suites. Today, we are a one-stop, iconic destination boasting 139 rooms (that all overlook the water), 3 Food and Beverage outlets, a convention center, private launch ramp, a waterpark and fun for everyone.
About the Role:
As a Restaurant Server, you will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests by providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service. You will be responsible for accurately taking and delivering orders, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and organized dining environment. This role requires strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members, as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Ultimately, your goal is to contribute to a seamless dining experience that encourages repeat visittlys and positive reviews.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience food service role
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
- Must have current AZ Food Handlers card and Basic Title IV Alcohol certificate.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests in a courteous and timely manner.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while ensuring order accuracy and presentation standards.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any issues or special requests.
- Process payments and handle cash or credit transactions securely.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including setting and clearing tables.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Complete all pre/post side work on a daily basis.
Skills:
The required skills such as effective communication and basic math are essential for accurately taking orders, answering guest questions, and processing payments efficiently. Customer service skills are used daily to create a positive and welcoming environment, ensuring guests feel valued and attended to. Multitasking and time management skills help in balancing multiple tables and coordinating with kitchen staff to deliver timely service.
