The Brattleboro Country Club is seeking a highly motivated, experienced and skilled golf course superintendent to continually oversee course improvements and maintain consistent playing conditions for a championship-level golf course. Under your direction, BCC will continually be recognized as a great destination for golf in southern Vermont. the Superintendent reports directly to the owner.
Since 2015, with new ownership, many improvements have been made to both the golf course and the clubhouse. The ownership is driven to enhance this community asset to attract new members, occasional golf visitors and those new to the game. Prior to the purchase in 2015, the club was owned by its members.
Class A GCSAA preferred. Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Superintendent or 1st Assistant to the Superintendent at a premium club with references will receive an invitation to interview.
Duties Description:
Full time-year-round salaried position. Must have or obtain a Vermont Pesticide Applicators License before season opening 2026. The successful candidate will have a working understanding of :
Communicating regular with owner/manager (daily updates and weekly planning).
Experience managing poa/bentgrass greens in Northern New England.
Preparing and managing budgets.
Rainbird Stratus Central Control with MI. (mix Rainbird and Toro Heads).
Turf equipment, operation and basic repair, and equipment cycle planning.
Hiring, training and managing an effective work crew.
Hands on project management.
Pesticides and fertilizer, calibration and application for cool season grasses.
State required record keeping practices.
Proposing new improvements and implementing them.
Constant communication with Pro Shop about events and course conditions.
Overseeing snow removal and act as liaison between BCC and the Outing Club to prevent any negative impact from x-country skiing on the golf course during the winter months.
