Position Summary
Halifax River Yacht Club is seeking an energetic, hospitality-focused Bartender/Server to join our Food & Beverage team. As a private yacht club, we are dedicated to providing exceptional service, building lasting relationships with our members, and creating memorable dining and social experiences.
The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, and passionate about hospitality. This position involves both bartending and table service responsibilities, supporting daily club operations, member dining, special events, and private functions.
Key ResponsibilitiesBartending
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to club standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar
- Demonstrate knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and classic cocktails
- Verify identification and ensure responsible alcohol service
- Accurately process beverage orders and payments through the POS system
Member Dining & Service
- Provide warm, attentive service to members and their guests
- Learn and recognize member names and preferences
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
- Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner
- Make menu and beverage recommendations when appropriate
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of dining and bar areas
Events & Club Functions
- Assist with banquets, club events, regattas, weddings, and private functions
- Support event setup, service, and breakdown as needed
- Work collaboratively with fellow team members to ensure seamless event execution
Qualifications
- Previous bartending and/or serving experience preferred
- Private club, restaurant, hospitality, or event experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails
- Excellent communication and guest service skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol Certification preferred

Pay: From $11.00 per hour
