The Stardust Motel is looking for a friendly and responsible team member to create a 5 Star guest experience as our night clerk. This position is vital in its role as the first impression a weary traveler has of our motel and the town of Wallace.
Since new ownership in 2022, The Stardust Motel has been voted #1 lodging in the Silver Valley for the last 2 years and we consistently receive top reviews for our truly wonderful team and superbly clean rooms.
During your evening shifts, your role is to warmly welcome guests, foster a fun and safe environment, and serve as their Guest Experience Guide — highlighting all the magic of the Stardust and everything Wallace has to offer so guests will want to return after an amazing stay.
This position is perfect for someone who loves talking to people, loves staying busy, enjoys physical movement, is comfortable with technology/computers, is reliable, and prides themself on problem solving and multitasking.
This is a PT position starting at 1:45pm to 10pm... and we need flexibility during the high summer season (open to discuss set schedule for the right candidate).
During the winter and slow season you will also help with laundry, folding, stocking, some deep cleaning and snow shoveling/salting, leaf raking.
For the right person, this position has the opportunity to be year round full time.
STARDUST MOTEL — FRONT DESK EVENING/NIGHT CLERK (with Light Laundry)

Role Summary
You set the tone for late arrivals—warm welcome, accurate check-ins, a calm, safe lobby, and a smooth handoff to morning. This is a high level fast past multi-tasking customer service position.
What You’ll Do
- Guest services: Greet weary travelers, complete check-ins/outs, verify payments/IDs, set quiet-hours expectations, share simple local guidance.
- Late-arrival readiness: Prep expected arrivals (room assignment, code/key info) and handle walk-ins accurately in InnRoad.
- Messaging & security: Monitor Akia, email, and phone; respond promptly; escalate issues per the tree; keep doors and guest areas secure.
- RemoteLock: Create codes for same-day/walk-ins; verify stayover codes; flag/replace low batteries when safe/available and note for AM follow-up.
- Lobby & exterior: Keep lobby sight/smell tidy; dust/spot-vacuum/glass touch-ups; quick exterior sweep; secure fire pit if used.
- Laundry: Load/switch/fold to stage AM linen closets and carts; leave nothing wrinkle-prone in dryers at close.
- Weather actions: In winter, shovel/salt entries and place wet-floor signs; log actions in pass-down. Fall raking leaves
- Lighting and maintaining the fire pit starting at 5pm thru the evening
- Pass-down: Write a clear, actionable handoff covering arrivals due, guest promises, OOO rooms/ETAs, and maintenance/safety notes.

InnRoad (PMS), RemoteLock, Akia (guest messaging), email/phone, Google Drive/Docs/Sheets.

- Late arrivals are smooth; folios clean; zero preventable billing errors.
- Messages answered quickly; issues de-escalated and documented.
- Lobby/exterior “ready state” maintained; laundry staged for AM.
- Clear, complete pass-down with no surprises for the day team.

Skills
- Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist or similar role
- Experience with hotel reservations software, like InnRoad or similar
- Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking and Expedia
- Customer service attitude
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
