Rush Creek Yacht Club is a private member owned club located on Lake Ray Hubbard in Heath, TX that focuses on sailing as a recreational hobby and sport. As a member of the Front-of-House team, you will be an integral part of creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for our members and guests. Your role involves providing exceptional customer service, taking orders, and ensuring smooth dining experiences. This position offers the opportunity to work in a yacht club setting and contribute to the overall satisfaction of our members.
The Front-of-house Staff position is the interface between the club members and kitchen. The role is like a waiter/server in a restaurant; however, members place their orders at a counter and all payment and charges are on the member’s account, where the staff member does not have to wait directly on a table, or issue tickets and receive payments. When possible staff may take food out to members.

Rush Creek is open on specific days and schedules are set weekly allowing you flexibility during the week.
Club Staff Schedules:
- Wednesday: 5:00pm – 10:30pm
- Friday: 5:00pm - 9:30pm
- Saturday: 10:30am – 4:00pm -or- 4:00pm – 9:30pm (Doubles can also be worked)
- Sunday: 10:30am – 3:30pm -or- 3:30pm – 8:30pm (Doubles can also be worked)
Rush Creek does have special events and regattas which may require an expanded schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaboration with Kitchen and Bar Staff: Maintain effective communication with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service. Coordinate timing of food and beverage delivery to members.
- Customer Service: Provide warm, friendly, and professional service to members and guests. Greet patrons upon arrival, assist with seating, and address any inquiries or special requests.
- Order Taking and Processing: Take accurate and detailed orders, ensuring special requests are noted. Transmit orders to the kitchen and coordinate with the culinary team for a seamless service.
- Upselling and Promotion: Promote special dishes, beverages, and club events to enhance the dining experience. Upsell premium menu items when appropriate.
- Order Management: Receive and manage orders in the point-of-sale system, ensuring accurate recording and timely communication with the members, kitchen, and management.
- Menu Knowledge: Possess a thorough understanding of the menu to answer questions and make recommendations. Communicate special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff
- Table Management: Monitor dining areas to ensure a balanced and pleasant atmosphere. Deliver plates and meals to known members. Bus member plates and clear tables as needed.
- Customer Concerns: Address customer concerns or complaints with professionalism and in accordance with club policies. Collaborate with management to resolve issues promptly.
Education, Skills and Experience
- Current high school student or graduate.
- Previous experience in a front-of-house role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic math skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Be willing to learn.
Physical and Mental
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift and carry moderately heavy trays.
- Navigate busy and sometimes crowded dining areas.
