Indian Harbor Yacht Club
Founded in 1889 by dedicated sailors’ intent on being part of the thriving sailing community on Long Island Sound, Indian Harbor Yacht Club (IHYC) has a distinguished history of yacht racing and boating. Located in Captain Harbor in Greenwich, Connecticut, the Club provides members and guests an ideal and family-friendly setting for year-round enjoyment including a vibrant social calendar, family programming, fine and informal dining with fantastic waterfront views, and of course racing and cruising.
Over the years, members have contributed to the establishment of national organizations that have defined the sport including US Sailing, the US Power Squadron, the Yacht Racing
Union of Long Island Sound, and The American Power Boating Association. They have also participated in America’s Cup Syndicates and have organized international regattas for one-design classes, ocean races and US Youth Championships, and have been overall winners four times in the Newport to Bermuda Race as well as the American Power Boat
Championships.

Bartenders, or Mixologist, mix and serve alcoholic beverages based on the members requests.
Their duties include verifying the identification and age of the members and their guests, preparing and serving alcoholic beverages, and accurately charging them to the correct account, cleaning glasses and bar utensils and printing end of the day report to record sales. The Bartender/
Mixologist should maintain a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. They should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable and personable.
Job Requirements
- Inspects the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available.
- Requests additional supplies as necessary and stocks the bar.
- Follows set-up procedures.
- Prepares garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drinks.
- Greets members and guests.
- Mixes, prepares and serves drinks to members and guests and mixes and prepares drinks ordered by food servers and beverage servers according to the recipes approved by the beverage manager.
- Collects checks and payment for drinks served.
- Reports complaints to a manager as soon as they occur.
- Maintains and cleans bar area and equipment.
- Maintains records of liquors, beers, wine, to ensure bar stock is maintained at all times.
- Maintains daily inventory and records indicating drinks in the greatest demand.
- Cleans and lock ups the bar area according to prescribed procedures.
- Attends staff meetings including pre-shift (line-up) sessions as required.
- Carefully follows all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service and informs manager if continued service to a member or guest is in question.
- Serves drinks to members and guests seated at lounge tables in the absence of a beverage server.
- Continually practices beverage and revenue control procedures.
- Assist F&B team in side work as assigned by the supervisor/manager
- Assist setting up tables before service with appropriate utensils, napkins and decorations
- Handle various impromptu requests from members
- Must have proper and clean uniforms at all times.
- Make management aware of any complaints concerning food/beverages and service.
- Perform all side-work as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
- Attend pre-meal meetings with all dining room personnel;
- Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of dining room areas, equipment and fixtures; checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings.
- Assures that local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
- Performs other appropriate assignments and projects as required by the general manager.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
