Silver Sands Motel & Beach Bungalows is a thoughtfully rejuvenated 1950s waterfront retreat set along 1,400 feet of private beachfront in Greenport, on the North Fork of Long Island. Originally opened in 1957, the property has been re-imagined as a design-led, context-driven micro-resort that blends mid-century character with a quieter, more refined approach to hospitality.
Spanning 45 acres, the property includes an 18-acre protected salt marsh and a 15-acre working oyster farm in Pipes Cove, making it one of the largest waterfront hotel properties on Long Island. Silver Sands is also one of only two all-electric, fossil-fuel-free hotels in the United States and has been recognized in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards and the 2025 Hospitality Design Awards.
The property offers twenty hotel rooms, eight Beach Shacks, two two-bedroom Bungalows, and two three- to four-bedroom Beach Houses, alongside three distinct dining experiences at Nookies, Eddie’s, and The Boathouse.
The Salt Marsh Wellness Sanctuary, set at the edge of the tidal marsh, operates as a fully private, reservation-only spa. The experience centers around a self-guided ritual of heat, cold, and stillness, complemented by treatments including massage, sculpting facials, yoga, breathwork, and sound immersions.

Role Overview
We are seeking experienced, service-driven Servers who take pride in hospitality, understand the rhythm of a busy dining room, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team. This role requires strong menu knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver warm, polished service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including daily specials
- Take and execute food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
- Consistently follow proper steps of service with professionalism and care
- Deliver attentive, genuine hospitality that creates a positive and memorable guest experience
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth, timely service
- Proactively direct and collaborate with the support team to complete all steps of service
- Assist teammates during service while maintaining ownership of your section
- Use the POS system quickly and accurately during service
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including table setup and breakdown
- Complete all assigned side work
- Arrive on time, in uniform, prepared and ready to work
- Maintain a positive, proactive presence on the floor
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a server in a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong working knowledge of POS systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
- Comfortable performing in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Polished personal presentation
- Ability to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods
- Ability to maintain service standards while working under pressure
