The position is being hired because our current Assistant Equipment Manager is leaving for a prestigious Equipment Manager role at a high-level private club. The Assistant Equipment Manager will have ownership in upholding the standard of the shop and grounds complex. This role will support the Equipment Manager and perform various tasks ranging from cutting unit maintenance to large mechanical repairs. This position will be a key role in the success of the equipment and shop operations, as well as preparation for the upcoming KPMG Women’s PGA Championship (June 2026) and the Ryder Cup (Fall 2029). Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform cutting unit maintenance including daily checks, sharpening/grinding, and measuring reel geometry
- Maintain the golf course equipment fleet including diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance
- Assist in the management of shop budget lines, equipment records, work orders, and parts inventory
- Collaborate with Equipment Manager for crew member equipment and safety training
- Support the Turfgrass Team in other areas of the operation, including but not limited to mowing, debris removal, bunker care, and other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- While prior experience with golf course or turf equipment is preferred, the ideal candidate has a strong passion for their work and approaches each day with a curious mindset about how they can improve team culture, equipment operations, and golf course conditions
- Working knowledge of equipment technologies (2 cycle, gasoline and diesel engines, electric and hybrid systems)
- Ability to communicate effectively using oral, written, and basic computer skills
- Properly operate turfgrass maintenance equipment
- High School GED or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license

Schedule
- Full-time, year-round position; mostly Monday-Friday with occasional weekends
- Weekend work will vary based on championship and club tournament schedules
- Consistent early morning start time and mid-afternoon end time; typical shift is 8 hours
- Overtime available during peak seasons and major events
Physical Requirements

- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor for extended periods
