Pine Trace is a 18 hole, daily fee facility located in Oakland County, MI. The golf course is in the final stages of an extensive renovation, targeted for a Spring 2026 opening. The renovation includes a Toro Lynx, 2 wire, HDPE irrigation system, new pump station, improved drainage, all new cart paths and Better Billy Bunkers. In addition to strategic tree removal, all turf areas have been re-grassed. The tees, greens and fairways have been reseeded using 007XL and 777 bentgrass and all roughs established with high ranking bluegrass blends. The new driving range and putting green to be seeded in spring 2026 and new banquet facility to follow in 2027.

The Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Director of Agronomy and Facilities while working closely with the General Manager. He or she will oversee all activities related to the maintenance of the golf course grounds and company facilities. In particular there will be a critical focus on the successful opening of the newly renovated golf course and completion of the new driving range and putting green.
Works closely with the Director of Agronomy and Facilities to plan all maintenance activities and project work, applying his or her agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve the agreed upon maintenance standards and long-term goals.
Hires, trains, and supervises a staff of employees for the purpose of maintaining the golf course and an understanding of how their actions impact the golf course and the customer experience.
In accordance with the General Manager, acquires equipment and purchases necessary supplies to maintain the golf course to the established standards. The Superintendent is responsible for the inventory control and oversees the equipment maintenance programs.
The Superintendent approves all golf course budgeted expenditures and exercises cost control measures to keep operating and capital expenses in line with approved budgets.
Keeps accurate and complete records on payroll, inventory, weather data, maintenance procedures, safety training, pesticide applications, etc.
Communicates regularly with the Director of Agronomy, General Manager, Director of Golf and other members of management to discuss activities, goals, plans, and customer input.
Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices.
Advanced knowledge of turfgrass/plant pathology and application of plant protectants.
Advanced knowledge of irrigation systems operation and maintenance.
Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf course operations.
Oversees all building maintenance needs including upkeep of the clubhouse and facilities including snow removal
Minimum 5 years of turfgrass management experience, with at least 2 years in a superintendent or senior assistant role
2 or 4 year Turfgrass Management degree.
Must have current State of Michigan certification as a pesticide applicator in categories 3A, 3B, 5 and 6 or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Valid driver's license.
Must have a strong business aptitude with knowledge of budgeting and expense management.
Must be highly organized with a great attention to detail.
