Glen Oak Country Club located in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania is seeking a service-driven, forward-thinking General Manager to lead the club into its next chapter. This role requires a visible, hands-on leader who can operate at both the strategic and operational levels—partnering with the Board of Directors, empowering the management team, and inspiring staff to deliver exceptional member experiences.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted thought partner to the Board and a steady leader for the club’s professional staff. This individual must bring strong hospitality leadership, financial acumen, food and beverage experience, and the ability to elevate service standards while strengthening culture, accountability, and teamwork.
The General Manager will be responsible for clubhouse operations, financial performance, and the overall member and employee experience, while helping enhance Glen Oak’s reputation across Northeast Pennsylvania.

Glen Oak Country Club is a full-service private country club situated on approximately 138 scenic acres in northeastern Pennsylvania. Since its founding in the mid-20th century, the club has been a cornerstone of the community, offering a championship golf experience and a broad range of social, dining, and recreational amenities for individuals, families, and social members.

Initial Priorities of Position:
- Learn and evaluate the club’s culture, systems, traditions, and history, while identifying opportunities to enhance the member experience and social calendar.
- Become fully immersed in Food & Beverage operations, including financial controls, SOP development, service standards, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Align all financial processes, systems, records, and reporting with POS and accounting best practices in collaboration with the club’s financial and administrative team.
- Build trust and rapport with direct reports through structured communication, professional development, and training - ensuring staff feel heard, valued, and accountable.
- Work closely with the Head Golf Professional, Golf Course Superintendent, and department heads to ensure strong cross-departmental collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and execute policies established by the Board of Directors.
- Lead all clubhouse and food & beverage operations, including staff development for both front- and back-of-house teams.
- Develop and maintain an effective organizational structure; recommend improvements as needed.
- Modernize personnel policies and oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development.
- Serve as an ex-officio member of appropriate committees and actively engage with members during club operations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Oversee marketing and membership initiatives to support retention, engagement, and growth.
- Protect and steward the club’s physical, financial, and cultural assets.
- Maintain professional involvement through CMAA and other relevant industry organizations.
Candidate Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a private club or comparable hospitality environment.
- Proven Food & Beverage leadership experience.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and financial reporting.
- Experience developing and administering training and professional development programs.
- Sound judgment and decision-making ability, validated through references and prior performance.
- Strong understanding of safety, risk management, and emergency preparedness.
Education & Certifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Equivalent private club or hospitality experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Professional certifications preferred but not required (CCM, CCE, PGA).
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary - $110,000-$120,000, compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
