Herons Glen, an upscale semi-private golf course recently ranked the #2 golf course in Florida for public golfers, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Superintendent to join our team. The course underwent a full renovation in 2021, with upgrades to all turf, drainage, and irrigation systems. The greens feature Tif Eagle while the rest of the turf is Bimini Bermudagrass, supported by a state-of-the-art Rainbird IC irrigation system. As the Golf Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing up to 16 employees, scheduling job assignments, and managing irrigation schedules. Working closely with the Director of Agronomy, you will lead the execution of fertilization and chemical applications, ensuring the course is maintained to the highest standards. This hands-on position requires a proactive individual who is not afraid to get their hands dirty in order to achieve excellence in course maintenance. This is a great opportunity for an Assistant looking to further their career. Our last Superintendent was recently hired at a full private country club after 3 years service.
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience with turfgrass management and irrigation systems
- Knowledge of fertilizers, chemicals, and pest control in a golf course setting
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
